Whatever your eating disorder looks like right now, you are welcome here. I’m Crystal Daigle, a Carolyn Costin Institute Certified Eating Disorders Recovery Coach based in Paris, France and working virtually worldwide. I live-in when needed. Being recovered since 2003 after living with near-fatal eating disorders for 27 years inspires my compassionate coaching. I became a coach to help people just like you — intelligent, sensitive achievers. Not “artsy”? No worries! We focus on YOUR interests and recovery pathway.
I believe the eating disorder part or negative body image part is trying to help by serving a function but at a high price! I coach your Healthy Self to take over those functions. You may wonder what your eating disorder could be trying to do for you? We will explore this together. Some possibilities may be: feel good about achieving something (charting calories and exercise), ensure you are included and accepted (restrict food, body checking), soothing anxiety (eating large quantities of calorie dense foods), prevent unwanted sexual attention (losing weight).
As we work together gently to help your Healthy Self learn/relearn skills to increase self-esteem, regulate emotions, communicate assertively and create realistic daily agendas, the eating disorder voice gradually quiets down and eventually transforms into a helpful part. You reclaim your mental energy and live your vision-life!!
When I was ill my energy was totally consumed by eating disorder thoughts and behaviors. To be honest, I hated myself. But not anymore. Now I am living my Vision-life. What’s that? Recovering from an eating disorder isn’t just about what you stop doing, it’s also about discovering who you truly are and creating a fulfilling life. Trust me, being fully recovered frees up a lot of mental and emotional energy. Mine lead me to Paris! Where will yours lead to? As your Eating Disorders Recovery Coach, I’ll help you listen to your inner longings and consistently move towards your dreams. Will you take a class? Relocate? Write a book? Retire early and travel? Let’s find out together.
As your Eating Disorders Recovery Coach, I provide unconditional support in the here and now from someone who has been there and understands your struggle. You can reach out to me via text and/or a quick phone call when you have urges to binge, purge, restrict, etc. You’ll create gentle, achievable behavior change goals and gradually put the eating disorder out of a job. Coaching is not medical treatment but an adjunct to therapy. We might also practice mindfulness, boundary setting and communication skills because eating disorders are about much more than food. Gradually your healthy self will lead you towards a purposeful and enjoyable life.

“The person can accept his or her natural body size and shape and no longer has a self- destructive or unnatural relationship with food or exercise. When you are recovered, you do not use eating disorder behaviors to deal with, distract from, or cope with other problems. When ecovered, you will not compromise your health or betray your soul to look a certain way, wear a certain size or reach a certain number on the scale.”
"I began working with Crystal 2.5 years ago when I decided I wanted freedom from the highly restrictive eating plan I had been practicing for over 10 years. She was always caring, gentle, knowledgeable and encouraging. She recommended and worked closely in partnership with other ED professionals that we brought in to my recovery process. I’ve come a long way in my time with Crystal - I’m no longer afraid of certain foods, I understand what works for my body and what doesn’t, I have the freedom and joy to join in celebrations and family gatherings and most importantly I’ve learned to accept and love the person I see in the mirror and the body she is blessed with."
"We hired Crystal to work with my daughter during this last quarter while away at school in a pretty severe relapse. Crystal went above and beyond. My daughter's weight stabilized and she was able to complete her quarter. She is a truly gifted ED coach. She is kind, wise and compassionate and is more than capable of handling all the sneakiness of the ED. Also communicated great with our family and outpatient ED team. Could not recommd more highly!"
"I found Crystal through the provider search on my Recovery Record app. I had learned, over the years, that I couldn't quit my food behaviors by myself. I sincerely thought that I might never be able to stop. I knew that support groups and therapy could only do so much for me and had fantasized about someone I could text when I was in trouble to help me, someone who knew what it was like and what they were doing. Crystal has surpassed anything I could have hoped for; I have been almost a month without my food behaviors and continue to improve. I feel so whole, grounded, and hopeful. Thank you so much Crystal!"
"I trust Crystal. She is sincere, dedicated and caring. She has extensive experience in recovery coaching and yet she remains energetic and fresh in her approach, always bringing life to our sessions."
"Crystal supported me on the road to pregnancy and throughout with all the twists and turns of a changing body. I've been able to bring everything I learned into my new role of mom and I'm happy to report that I'm stopping the cycle of disordered eating with my generation, encouraging my daughter to embrace a healthy relationship with food through my example. I don’t know if I would be here in this place of peace and happiness if it wasn’t for Crystal, and I am eternally grateful!"
"Crystal guided me through my initial stages of eating disorder recovery with such a depth of understanding that is unique to the supporter role in the ED space. Not only did she help me call out and release my disordered, perfectionist thinking and behaviors, she helped guide me back to my true self: the one that got silenced by the eating disorder."
"I have the greatest admiration for Crystal. She is a clear communicator, a conscious listener, and adept in the healing arts. She brings expertise and humility to her work. She’s ethical and trustworthy and knows that kindness and humor have a place in any undertaking of value."
"I experienced Crystal as kind, wise, creative, practical and trustworthy. She role-modeled progress & growth, shared her creativity, gave me support, encouragement and challenged me. She modeled boundary-setting and self-care. The people that she works with from here on out are fortunate to have her."
